Guwahati News Desk: At least 17 workers died in a major fire that broke out at a chemical plant in Pune, Maharashtra on Monday.
The incident took place at 4 pm and 6 fire tenders of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) immediately rushed on the spot to control the situation.
According to the source, out of 37 on-duty employees, 20 workers have been rescued, and 17 bodies have been recovered, says Fire Department.
The chemical plant SVS Aqua Technologies works into manufacturing, supply, and export of air, water, and surface treatment chemicals.
The Pune Police have already started their investigation to find out and identify the cause of the fire.
