Guwahati News Desk: After four years of marriage, Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya, finally announced their separation through social media.
After featuring in media headlines for months for their alleged split, the two actors made an official announcement about their separation on Saturday afternoon.
Taking to Instagram, Samantha Akkineni shared, “To all our well wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us.”
Further requesting fans for privacy, she wrote, “We request our fans, well wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support.”
Moreover, the speculations about the couple’s rift started when Samantha Prabhu Ruth dropped her surname Akkineni on social media. The actress changed her display name on Instagram and Twitter to ‘S’. However, they both did not speak on the matter of their separation, until Saturday.
Regarding their journey of love, they both worked together as co-stars in films like “Manam“, “Ye Maaya Chesave” and “Autonagar Surya“, and got married in 2017. The couple had two weddings, one in accordance with South India rituals preceded by a Christian wedding. They also co-starred in the film called “Majili.”
However, due to certain underlying circumstances in their private lives, their journey of being co-stars to being a beloved couple whom fans also termed as the “ultimate couple goals” duo, finally concluded and reached its end.
