Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has decided to vaccinate all the teachers of the State by September 5.
Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said an additional 12 lakh vaccines doses were brought from the centre to vaccinate all the teachers in Assam to combat COVID-19.
CM Dr Sarma also said that after vaccination, all the teachers by September 5 the State will celebrate Teacherâs Day. Meanwhile, the State government also decided to reopen the schools and colleges from September 1 across the State.
Chief Minister also added that currently COVID-19 situation in Assam is under control and have successfully dealt with the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and also ready to tackle the upcoming third wave.
On Wednesday, Assam reported fresh 689 COVID-19 cases and 13 death reported as active cases reaches to 6,658.
