Guwahati News Desk: The Assam Medical Service Association (AMSA) has boycotted Out Patient Department (OPD) services for three days starting November 1, Monday, in protest against the government.
On October 19, 2021, the AMSA started its agitation and decided to continue until the government met its demands.
Kanak Chandra Talukdar, the General Secretary of AMSA, commented, “If the government doesn’t meet our demands, we will take even more dangerous steps. We also had a meeting with the health minister, and although he assured us to fulfill our demands, it has not yet been fulfilled. “
There are a few demands of the AMSA like cadre revision, time scale promotion for health doctors, measures to fill up vacant posts of doctors, etc., to name a few.
