Guwahati News Desk: The Arunachal Pradesh government on Monday has decided to supply masks made of khadi for those attending schools.
The schools will reopen on November 16 for the first time post COVID 19 lockdowns. The masks will be of tri-colour design specially from the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). 60,000 khadi cotton face masks will be supplied with an aim to trigger a sense of nationalism among the students.
This is the first time a state government in North East, ever have purchased such a humongous quantity of khadi masks for students.
KVIC Chairman Sri Vinai Kumar Saxena said that “This is a prestigious order for KVIC and such big orders create an additional job for Khadi artisans. We have supplied the order in just 6 days while ensuring the highest quality standards of face masks”.
