Guwahati News Desk: Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss over the Assam-Mizoram border dispute in New Delhi on Monday.
The Prime Minister Office (PMO) tweeted, “The Chief Minister of Assam, @himantabiswa called on PM @narendramodi.”
Earlier, the Chief Minister of Assam accompanied by the Bharatiya Janata Party MP’s to met Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the border clash between Assam-Mizoram which took the worst situation on July 26 after 6 Assam Police personnel including one civilian were killed by Mizoram Police.
Later today Assam CM Sarma will meet Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
According to the sources, last week both the States have decided to agreed in a joint statement to take forward the Centre’s initiative of letting neutral forces patrol the dispute border area and to maintain peace in the Assam-Mizoram border.
Earlier in August, Governor of Mizoram Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Anit Shah to discuss over the border clash between Assam and Mizoram which has now come into an extreme situation.
Earlier in August, Mizoram Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the current border situation and how to diffuse the tensions between the two states.
Home Minister Amit Shah is trying to defuse the current tense situation by far finding out the solution to resume peace in both States.
