Guwahati News Desk: A senior IPS officer Rounak Ali Hazarika was immediately suspended by Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on Tuesday for undertaking multiple foreign visits since 2011.
Officer Rounak Ali Hazarika posted as DIGP as according to sources, he had never obtained prior permission from the Home Department of Government of Assam for his multiple foreign tours since his date of joining in Assam Police.
In the notification, it was also said Hazarika did not acknowledge several government guidelines during the occasion.
The suspension was made with immediate effect by the Governor of Assam in the exercise of powers concerned by clause (a) of sub-rule (I) of rule 3 of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rule, 1969, nearby places Rounak Ali Hazarika under suspension.
It was ordered that Hazarika will not be allowed to leave the headquarters without prior permission from the Governor as during the suspension period the headquarters of Rounak Ali Hazarika shall be at the office of Director General of Police.
