Australia defeated Pakistan by 5 Wickets in the semi final of T20 World Cup

Guwahati News Desk: Defeating Pakistan by five wickets, Australia entered the final of the ICC T20 World Cup.

The match took place at at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing a target of 177 runs, skipper Aaron Finch departed for a duck in the first over against pacer Shaheen. While spinner Shadab Khan also got into the action as he struck with four crucial wickets to rock Australia in their pursuit of 177 runs for a win.

In Thursday’s match, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade stitched together an unbeaten fifty-run partnership to guide Australia to a superb five-wicket win and a spot in the finals, where they will take on New Zealand on Sunday.

On the other hand, with an impressive knock of 67 runs, Mohammad Rizwan top-scored for Pakistan. He added 71 runs with skipper Babar Azam for the first wicket and 72 runs for the second wicket with Fakhar Zaman.

The players of team Pakistan included of Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The players of team Australia included of David Warner, Aaron Finch (c), Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade (wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood.

Eventually, the final score of the match between Pakistan and Australia mounted up to Pakistan’s being 176/4 (20.0) and Australia’s being 177/5 (19.0).

Furthermore, it was Matthew Wade who was titled as the “Player of the Match”.
