Guwahati News Desk: The Central government-owned National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC) in India, was slapped with a fine of ₹5 lakh in New Delhi on Friday.
The Environment Minister of New Delhi, Gopal Rai, slapped the fine on NBCC Ltd. for violating the dust-control norms at its construction site in eastern Delhi’s Karkardooma locality.
Addressing the media during a surprise inspection of the site, the Minister said, “I have inspected the NBCC construction site. Dust prevention norms were being violated here. The Delhi government has slapped a fine of ₹5 lakh on the agency for non-compliance (of norms).”
Regarding NBCC Ltd., it is a blue-chip Government of India Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The current project undertaken by the company is of constructing the Karkardooma East Delhi Hub in the area, which will be the Capital’s first transit-oriented development project.
In addition, the project aims to spread over an area of 37.42 hectares.
Moreover, the project plans to have residential, commercial and green spaces.
