Australia defeats West Indies by 8 wickets, South Africa beat England by 10 runs

Guwahati News Desk: Defeating West Indies by 8 wickets, Australia moves ahead in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

The match took place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

Warner’s knock, laced with nine fours and four sixes, along with Mitchell Marsh’s 53 off 32 balls, was instrumental in Australia chasing down 158 with 22 balls remaining, giving a big boost to their net run rate in Group 1 standings.

In Saturday’s match Australia won the game with 22 balls to spare.

In addition, Josh Hazlewood starred with the ball as Australia managed to restrict West Indies to a total of 157/7 in 20 overs.

For West Indies, the team started off on a slow note, losing three wickets inside the powerplay overs adding 50 runs in the first six overs.

However, Kieron Pollard top-scored with a 31-ball 44 while Evin Lewis also contributed with a decent 26-ball 29 for the team.

The players of team Australia included of Aaron Finch (c), David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Marsh, Matthew Wade (wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood.

The players of team West Indies included of Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard (c), Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Akeal Hosein and Hayden Walsh.

Eventually, the final score of the match between Australia and West Indies mounted up to Australia’s being 161/2 (16.2) and West Indies’s being 157/7 (20.0).

Furthermore, it was David Warner who was titled as the “Player of the Match.”

Regarding the match between South Africa and England, team South Africa defeated England by 10 runs in their final Super 12 Group 1 match but failed to qualify for the semifinals of the ICC T20 World Cup due to net-run-rate calculations.

The match took place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah,on Saturday.

In Saturday’s match, England had started quite well, but losing Jason Roy early to an injury, turned out to be a big blow to the team.

Moreover, Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali also gave a good start on behalf of their team.

The players of team South Africa included of Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma (c), David Miller, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi.

The players of team England included of Jason Roy, Jos Buttler (wk), Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan (c), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, Mark Wood and Adil Rashid.

Eventually, the final score of the match between England and South Africa mounted up to England’s being 179/8 (20.0) and South Africa’s being 189/2 (20.0).

Furthermore, it was Rassie van der Dussen who was titled as the “Player of the Match”
