Guwahati News Desk: President-elect Joe Biden’s close adviser and Congressman Cedric Richmond has tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to the reports, Richmond developed symptoms on Wednesday and took a rapid test which came out positive.
In the incoming Biden administration, the 47-year-old has been named as the White House Senior Adviser and Director of the Office of Public Engagement.
Transition spokeswoman Kate Bedingfield said:
“Richmond was not in close contact, as defined by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), with the President-elect. President-elect Biden underwent PCR testing for COVID-19 today and COVID-19 was not detected.”
President-elect has come in contact with Richmond in the open air with the mask on for less than 15 consecutive minutes only.
