Guwahati News Desk: Due to the heavy downpour that has been continuing for the last 15 days in the Darbhanga district of Bihar, a village continues to remain submerged amidst the terrifying floods.

Naya Tola, a village in the Hayaghat block of the Darbhanga district in Bihar, has been reeling in this situation, forcing more than half of the population in the village to migrate to safer places.

The village is situated adjacent to the Bagmati river, for which it witnesses the problem of flooding every year.
However, the people there continue to complain about the lack of arrangements during the time of such a crisis.

Currently, the situation in this village is so grim, that even to go to the local markets, for buying food and necessary items for their families, the people only have the option of using boats, that were provided to them by the government.

Md. Mumtaz Alam from Naya Tola village informed that the flood-affected people are facing the problem of food and water, but the government is not doing enough.

Meanwhile, Md. Zulfiqar, another local from the same village, claimed that, unlike the previous years, this time the local administration had made arrangements of an adequate number of boats for the flood-affected people.

Md. Zulfiqar stated, “The local administration has made arrangements of eight boats in this area after we exerted pressure, unlike previous years, but there is no arrangement of plastics cover, food and water yet.”

Ruksana Khatoon, another local of the village, stated, “For the last ten days, water has entered our village. We are sinking here but we have not got ration or plastics from the government.”

Meanwhile, the people of the village continue to suffer and struggle due to the severe floods.
