Guwahati News Desk: Fake Indian currency note busted by city cops in Guwahati City on Tuesday.
According to the sources, the Special Squad and Basistha Police busted a Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) scam after it intercepted a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number ML07B7998.
City Cops seized the vehicle and recovered bundles of FICN. According to the sources, the receiver of the pack one Champion R Sangma (46), resident of Songsak in Meghalaya said that the pack is worth Rs 15 lakh.
However, the pack had only Rs 10 thousand in original currency notes and the rest was white paper. The receiver said that he paid Rs 3.5 lakh to one Poresh Das and one Bijay Das at Kamrup Petrol Pump for Rs 15 lakhs worth of FICN.
Two others Gohanch Sangma (36) from Songsak and Cherian Momin (28) from Tura in Meghalaya were also arrested in this matter.
