Guwahati News Desk: On the occasion of 75th Independence Day Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma hoisted the national flag and addresses the State marking the celebrations of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in Khanapara on Sunday morning.
CM Sarma also pays floral tribute to the martyrs of the State at Sheaddhanjali Kannan in Guwahati.
On the 75th Independence Day CM Sarma pays tribute to the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for sake of our nation.
Assam Chief Minister Sarma tweeted, “On 75th #IndependenceDay, my rich tributes to our freedom fighters who laid down their lives for sake of our nation. Though nothing will suffice to compensate their supreme sacrifices, each reverent bow reiterates our commitment to enrich Indian values,”

Meanwhile, the national flag has been hoisted at the Gauhati High Court by Chief Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia where several advocates and staff were present in the Independence Day ceremony.
The national flag was also hoisted at the Assam Legislative Assembly, Assam Police Headquaters, Northeast Frontier Railways Headquaters and at Prasar Bharati office in Guwahati City.
