Meanwhile, positive cases have been seen to increase in Kamrup district in the recent days after 197 new COVID-19 positive cases reported. It can be said the reason for increasing cases might be the expansion of curfew timing in Guwahati. Earlier, the curfew timing is from 2 pm as all the shops, market places, commercial establishments were closed down by 1 pm.
Earlier, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has revised the curfew timing in Kamrup Metro by extending it to 5 pm from 2 pm as currently all the shops, business establishments, offices, market places, etc were allowed to operate till 4 pm.
The odd/even rule was seen continued in Guwahati and the inter-district restriction was banned.
Hello Guwahati in conversation with a Guwahati resident, “The latest case of COVID-19 is 197 in Guwahati and the cases are increasing mainly due to the extension of curfew timing as people got more time for interaction and seen floating in the market areas.”
