Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has planning to replace all diesel-run city busses with electricity and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Guwahati City.
In a cabinet meeting on Friday, the government has decided to purchase of 200 electric buses and 100 CNG buses and to replace diesel-run ASTC buses in Guwahati.
The announcement was made by the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma who said, “Government of Assam is planning all the diesel-run buses replace with electric and CNG buses in Guwahati City. Our government is ready to purchase 200 electric buses and 100 CNG buses as ASTC will stop operating diesel-run buses soon.”
The goal is to replace diesel-run buses with electric and CNG buses in Guwahati City as it might take six months to one year.
