Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has aimed to provide tap water to every household in Assam by 2024 under Jal Jeevan Mission India.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma holds a review meeting for the progress of this scheme in the State with the officials of Jal Jeevan Mission Assam on Wednesday.
CM Sarma instructed the officials of the project to include technical officers in the mission to expedite its implementation.
The Skill Development Department of Assam will help out in training to make them expert technicians.

The government of Assam has taken up four major water supply projects which will be funded by the Government of India (JNNURM) for the South West region, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the North and South Central regions and ADB for the South East region.
The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is implementing the projects in Guwahati through the Independent Project Management Consultant/Implementation Units (PMC/PIU).
For the water projects in the city, the Guwahati Jal Board will work on the operation and maintenance of the projects after the completion.
