Guwahati News Desk: With the opening of the restaurant ‘Canboe : The Delicacy of Assam’, the food of Assam has already mesmerized the taste buds of the people in Delhi.
In a joint venture by founder Debojit Sarmah and co-founder Angshuman Sarmah, the North-Eastern people living in Delhi and even the local residents are gracefully welcoming and enjoying the amazing delicacies of Assam with fervor and cheer.
“Canboe : The Delicacy of Assam” has been set up in Dilli Haat on 26th March, 2021, which is a paid-entrance open-air market, food plaza, and craft bazaar located in Delhi.
Being in affiliation with the Assam Tourism Development Corporation and Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation, the Canboe’s elegant and chic design has emerged out of the combined efforts of both the tourism corporations and also of the owners. This has allowed the customers visiting the place to not only enjoy the food, but also to enjoy the overall beauty of the restaurant and have their meal amidst its graceful ambiance.
Initially, Canboe considered the North-Eastern people, especially those from Assam to be their prime target audience, eventually as the days passed, the team realized that even the local Delhi citizens were starting to enjoy the delicacies of Assam too.
When asked about why the team of Canboe chose Delhi to be their first location for setting up therestaurant, co-founder and owner Angshuman replied that only because of the pandemic, their plans of starting a restaurant in Assam was delayed. Stating that because the lockdown scenario in Delhi loosened up earlier as compared to Assam, so for this particular reason, Delhi became their first option and they went ahead to open their restaurant Canboe there. Thus, the journey of providing Assamese food thali’s to the people of Delhi turned out to be the right choice for them.
Also as the area of Dilli Haat is an elite market place, so most of the visitors and customers coming there are the sophisticated ones, and keeping that in mind Canboe tries its best to provide superb hospitality, high-quality and amazing food to them. Infact, all the customers of Canboe till date not only have shown their love towards the food, but they have also shown their appreciation towards the ambiance offered by Canboe as well.
Moreover, there are not many options available for the people in Delhi to enjoy and try Assamese food items. Even in the area of Dilli Haat, the only other restaurant serving Assamese food is the one named Assam Bhawan, while the other one is Canboe.
The Chefs
Canboe currently have three amazing chefs, who are responsible for providing all of the delicious and mouth-watering delicacies. The three chefs include of Ram Singh, Pushkar Bist and Badri Singh.
The Menu
The menu consists of a wide variety of food items, primarily including of Assamese dishes along with delicious Chinese and North-Indian food items.
However, the team of Canboe plans to continue improvising on their menu, by adding newer items to the current list.
Furthermore, Angshuman, delightfully expresses their aim of expanding the restaurant’s chain in the coming days. As per plan, they have aimed at opening a second restaurant in Guwahati and then one in Dibrugarh. Everything has been planned out and even the perfect spots for setting up of the new restaurants have been chosen.
