Guwahati News Desk: Kottayam Medical College in Kerala experienced a massive fire incident on Saturday.
According to sources, workers were busy disposing the waste in the dumping area behind the hospital, when the waste suddenly caught fire that gave birth to the massive flames.
A total of 17 workers were said to be in the building when the fire broke out.
However, no casualties have been reported so far and the huge mishap was averted as the employees managed to leave the place immediately after spotting the fire.
Moreover, huge billows of smoke were clearly seen coming out from the spot.
In addition, everything, including the bags carried by the staff were also gutted in the fire.
Regarding the waste treatment plant, it is located behind the gynaecology ward and cardiology ward. But as stated in the reports, the blaze did not spread to these buildings.
Meanwhile, two fire and rescue teams reached the site in order to douse the raging fire under control.
