Guwahati News Desk: As informed by the local authorities of China on Saturday, the country’s oldest person, Alimihan Seyiti, died at the age of 135 in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The authorities said, “The oldest person in China, passed away in Kashgar on December 16, at the age of 135.”
According to the China’s publicity department, Seyiti hailed from Komuxerik township of Shule County in Kashgar Prefecture and was Born on June 25, 1886.
In 2013, she topped the list of China’s oldest living persons issued by the China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, formerly known as the Gerontological Society of China.
As claimed in several reports by the Chinese media, Seyiti always ate on time, up until her death, and even at such an age she continued to help by looking after her great-grandchildren.
Moreover, Seyiti led a simple lifestyle, loved to sing and sunbathe in her yard, was always happy and also laughed a lot.
Furthermore, the town of Komuxerik is itself popularly known as a “longevity town,” as many elderly people aged above 90 reside there. In addition, the improvement of health services has partly contributed to their longevity, as the local government has provided contracted doctor service, free annual physical checks, and monthly advanced-age subsidies for the elderly aged above 60
