Guwahati News Desk: A bicycle rally was organized where the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma participated in the launching of a goodwill campaign ‘Go For Glory, Lovlina’ in Guwahati on Wednesday who is representing India at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

During the cycle rally in support of Assam’s daughter, Lovlina’s father Tiken Borgohain was felicitated on the occasion and urged people to come together and cheer for Lovlina. CM Sarma appreciated Sarupathar MLA Biswajit Phukan for the rally initiative and also wished Lovlina the very best for her performance at the Olympics.

CM Sarma said on Twitter, “We are so proud of Lovlina who is the first female athlete from Assam to represent India at the Olympics and the second boxer after Shiva Thapa to participate in the same from the State.”

During the event Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Deputy Speaker Numal Momin, Minister Atul Bora, UG Brahma, Pijush Hazarika, Bimal Borah, Sanjoy Kishan including opposition leader Debaratta Saika, Tuliram Ronghang including several MLAs were present.

Several hoardings on Lovlina B Borgohain representing India in the Tokyo Olympics were installed in Guwahati City as a part of a pride moment for Assam.
