Guwahati News Desk: A goods train was derailed near Angul in Odisha at 2.30 am on Tuesday resulting in cancelation of six trains and others train routes were diverted as well.
According to the sources, the derailment took place due to rainwater flooding in the track between Angul and Talcher however no injuries have been reported yet.
The route where the derailment took place is only single track and the derailment was so devastating that the engine and coaches of the goods trains have been half stuck in the track.
The cancelled train includes Bhubaneswar-Balangir, Rourkela-Puri, Hatai-Puri, Durg-Puri, and Rourkela-Gunupur from both directions. Meanwhile, Puri-Lok Manya Tilak weekly express has also been cancelled while Rourkela-Bhubaneswar will be short terminated at Sambalpur city.
List of train diverted are the Anand Vihar-Bhubaneswar Special train which departed on Monday will run via Chakradharpur-Jaroli and Jakhapura, the Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Special train from Visakhapatnam will run via Vizianagaram-Rayagada-Titilagarh-Sambalpur, the Durg-Puri Special train which left Durg on Monday at Boinda will run via Sambalpur-Titilagarh-Vizianagaram-Khurda Road and Hatia-Puri Tapaswini Special train that left Hatia on Monday will run via Sambalpur-Titilagarh-Vizianagaram-Khurda.
