Guwahati News Desk: In a shocking incident that took place in Oxiguri, Bijni of Chirang district in Assam, a headmaster allegedly, beat a student for not wearing shoes at the school. The incident took place at the Oxiguri Char Ali LP school on December 3. According to reports, Mohan Sarma, the headmaster of the Oxiguri LP School, thrashed a Class-2 student with a scale for not wearing shoes. The minor student alleged that the headmaster at first rebuked him and his parents. “The teacher said to me that my parents can give birth. But they cannot buy shoes for me,” he added.

The minor student is from a poor family whose father is a daily wage-earner. Later, he was taken to a doctor as he received an injury in his leg and back. Meanwhile, the local committee of the ABAMSU expressed shock at the incident and extended help to the student. The students’ body termed the incident as unfortunate. “We have extended financial help to him. He is from a very poor family. We have also borne the medical cost of him,” said an ABAMSU leader.

However, the teacher denied the allegations and claimed that he did not do any wrong to any student. On the other hand, At a time when a major challenge was posed by private educational institutes, an unscrupulous act was witnessed among government school teachers in Assam created controversy. One of the incidents happened at the Amranga Higher Secondary School, Kamrup. According to reports, a teacher of the school taught the students sitting at his table in the school classroom with his legs folded.

Notably, a student in the class captured his bizarre act on a mobile video camera and uploaded the same on social media. It has drawn sharp reactions from a large number of social media users.
