Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has declared public holiday on April 22 for upcoming Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Elections.
In the official notification, the government of Assam has notified, “All the Govt. / Non Govt. Offices, Educational Institutions, and Business Establishments Including Bank, Tea Garden Industries etc. within the Guwahati Municipal Corporation Area will remain closed on account of this Public holiday under N.I. Act”.
A total of 208 candidates were elected for the GMC Elections which to hold on April 22 as the counting of votes to be on April 22.
According to the sources, a total of 7,96,829 voters to participate in the GMC Elections while 3,96,891 are male voters and 3,99,911 are female voters. A number of transgender voters is 27.
