Guwahati News Desk: Shalini Talwar, the wife of rapper and music composer Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, filed a case of domestic violence against him on Tuesday.
She filed a plea against him in Delhi’s Tis Hazari court and the court has issued notice to the singer and sought his response over it.
In Talwar’s 118-page complaint, she accused Honey Singh of being engaged in extra-marital sex with various women, and also provided details of the physical, verbal and emotional abuse that she had allegedly been subjected to by the rapper and his family, over the last 10 years.
Infact, she further said that there is evidence to show various acts of domestic violence perpetrated upon her, requesting the court to issue orders against him under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
Although the couple got married on 23rd January, 2011, but as informed by Talwar, the differences between the two cropped up right from their honeymoon, when he started acting distant. However, on confronting the rapper on the matter, he ended up hitting her.
Talwar alleged in her complaint, that he began having frequent casual sex with multiple women whenever he was travelling and to further his sexual intents and illicit relationships, he never disclosed to the public the fact that he was a married man. She added that he also stopped wearing his wedding ring, saying that it is not good luck for him to be wearing diamonds.
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh issued a notice to Honey Singh to appear before her on 28th August. The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate further directed him to not alienate or to create any third party rights in their jointly owned property in Noida or dispose of his wife’s jewellery and other articles.
Meanwhile, Talwar sought direction from the court to ask her husband to pay Rs 10 crore as interim compensation for perpetrating domestic violence on her and also prayed the court to order the singer to pay a rent of Rs. 5 lakh every month for fully furnished accommodation in Delhi, in order to enable her to live by herself and not remain dependent on her widowed mother.
In addition to this, Talwar has lately been sharing posts on her Instagram, speaking up against abuse and being bullied.
