Sangita Dewri, Food Correspondent: Besan Barfi is a favorite sweet of most of us. It can be made in no time and be yummy too.
INGREDIENTS
- Besan – 1 1/2 cup
- Ghee – 1/2 cup
- Sugar -1 cup
- Water – 2tsp
- Cardamom – 1/2tsp
- Almonds – 8nos
PROCESS
Heat the ghee in a pan and add the besan. Fry the besan for about 30mins in low flame until it’s golden brown. Turn off the flame. Now, make the sugar syrup. Add the sugar and water to a pan and cook for around 5 to 6mins. After that check a drop of the syrup between the index finger and the thumb and pull them apart. If it forms a one-string consistency then it’s ready. Pour the syrup into the besan and give it a quick mix. Prepare a pan with parchment paper and transfer the mixture. Tap the pan to get rid of excess air. Sprinkle the crushed almonds and let it set for 1hour. Cut it into barfi size.
