Guwahati News Desk: Nagaland Legislator Toshi Wungtung passed away due to prolonged illness on Thursday.
The 56-year-old was also an activist and a scholar. He was said to be an active student in his earlier years who carried out research works in the field of social, political, and economic affairs of the State of Nagaland.
The government of Nagaland will accord a State funeral on July 3 at 8 am at the residence of Toshi Wungtung at Purana Bazar in Dimapur to pay the last tribute and homage.
The Department of Information & Public Relations of Nagaland has condoled the untimely demise of Wungtung. Commissioner and Secretary of IPR V Maria Yanthan, IAS and Director of IPR Z Tokishe Sema recalled Late Toshi Wungtung who served the State with dedication and has put his whole life in serving the welfare of the people.
The officers and staff of the Department of Information & Public Relations pay tribute and remember him as an excellent personality who was highly respected in the society and shared his ideas and extended support for the progress of the department.
