Guwahati News Desk: Centre for Diabetic Foot Care and Research in association with Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Indian Podiatry Association will celebrate National Feet Day in August 17 with a theme of “I prevent amputation” at Kasturba Hospital Manipal.
The Vice-Chancellor of MAHE Lt Gn (Dr.) M.D Venkatesh, Dr Sharath Rao K Dean, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Dr Avinash Shett- Medical Superintendent Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, Dr G Arun Maiya- Dean, MCHP and Chief: Centre for Diabetic Foot Care and Research, Dr APS Suri, National President, Indian Podiatry Association will be highlighting the need for early screening of foot to prevent complications.
On this special occasion, free foot screening will be conducted for all general population and comprehensive foot assessment which to be done for people with diabetes mellitus.
The free foot screening will include neuropathy, vascular and musculoskeletal and ulcer evaluation at Diabetic Foot Clinic, KH, Manipal. Free foot care education and footwear counselling will be given for the people having or ingrown nails, a free pedicure will be provided. The screening will be done with an appointment and COVID appropriate precautions will be taken.
