Guwahati News Desk: New COVID Hospital currently under construction at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati will be inaugurated on June 10.
The new COVID Hospital has a capacity to treat 300 COVID-19 patients as all necessary COVID-19 equipments will be made available.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta visited Sarusajai Stadium to take stock of the ongoing construction of COVID-19 hospital on Monday.
Managing Director of National Health Mission Assam, officials of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and health department, including Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) were present to monitor the ongoing construction.
The new COVID-19 hospital will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The hospital to play a vital role during the second wave of COVID-19 in the State.
Assam reported new 3,804 COVID-19 cases on Monday as the active case reaches 48,672 and 37 death reported.
The positivity rates reach 3.06 percent and the recovery rate rises to 87.76 per cent as 4,613 people are discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours.
