Guwahati News Desk: Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the inter-district travel and said that there is no possibility of opening the inter-district ban in any district of Assam.

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that, “There is no plan to open the inter-district travel in any of the districts in Assam.”

CM Sarma holds a COVID-19 meeting with the officials and instructed for strict monitoring of district borders to stop trespassing as Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police to patrol for effective containment.

As officials to seek the help of gaon burhas to spread awareness against the virus. The officials had decided Hooch manufacturing units to be dismantled to stop the assembly of people.

In the meeting, the COVID-19 situation of Biswanath, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kamrup Metro, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sonitpur and Sivasagar reviewed with the State Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta, Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and another senior official.

In the seven districts, the rising number of COVID-19 cases are currently out of control for which a meeting to be held to discuss the current situation with the district administration which too is held in virtual mode.

During the meeting, it was also said the communication of Railways can’t be stopped as lot of things are associated with it.

CM Sarma Tweeted, “Reviewed COVID-19 situation of Biswanath, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kamrup (M), Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sonitpur, & Sivasagar with in Health Min @keshab_mahanta, DCs, SPs and other senior officials. Preventive enforcements, vaccinations to be intensified.”
