Guwahati News Desk: New Zealand registered their first win of T20 World Cup 2021, after defeating India by a total of 8 wickets.

The match between New Zealand and India, took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

In Sunday’s match, batting first, India failed to start well, as New Zealand put on an inspired bowling performance.

Daryl Mitchell scored a brilliant knock of 49 runs off 35 balls after Jasprit Bumrah removed Martin Guptill early in their innings.

In addition, Ishan Kishan (4) was removed by Trent Boult, while KL Rahul (18) was dismissed by Tim Southee and Rohit Sharma (14) was sent back by Ish Sodhi.

Moreover, Kane Williamson and Devon Conway ultimately ensured that their team scaled the target of 111 runs in 14.3 overs in the Super 12.

The players of team India included of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Shami, Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah.

The players of team New Zealand included of Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson(c), James Neesham, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips(w), Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Adam Milne, Trent Boult and Tim Southee.

Eventually, the final score of the match between India and New Zealand mounted up to India’s being 110/7 (20) and New Zealand’s being 111/2 (14.3).

Furthermore, it was Ish Sodhi who was titled as the “Player of the Match”.

Regarding the match between Afghanistan and Namibia, team Afghanistan registered a comprehensive 62-run victory over Namibia in Abu Dhabi to go 2nd in the Group 2 table.

The match took place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium In Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

In Sunday’s match, the spirited Afghans collected their second win of the Super 12s.

Afghanistan had won the toss and skipper Nabi elected to bat first.

Chasing the target of 161 to win, Namibia managed to attain just 98/9 in reply.

Shahzad chipped in with a 33-ball 45 while Hazratullah Zazai (33), Asghar Afghan (31) and Mohammad Nabi (32) also made vital contributions

In addition, Ruben Trumpelmann and Jon Loftie-Eaton scalped two wickets each while JJ Smits picked one wicket.

The players of team Afghanistan included of Hazratullah Zazai, Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Asghar Afghan, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi (c), Karim Janat, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Naveen Ul Haq and Hamid Hassan.

The players of team Namibia included of Craig Williams, Michael van Lingen, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Gerhard Erasmus (c), Zane Green (wk), JJ Smit, David Wiese, Jan Frylinck, Pikky Ya France, Ruben Trumpelmann and Bernard Scholtz.

Eventually, the final score of the match between Afghanistan and Namibia mounted up to Afghanistan ‘s being 160/5 (20) and Namibia’s being 98/9 (20).

Furthermore, it was Naveen Ul Haq who was titled as the “Player of the Match”.
