Guwahati News Desk: Implementation of Assam Accord Minister Atul Borah informed on Wednesday that around 1,39,910 illegal immigrants were identified so far and of which 29,984 illegal immigrants have been deported already in Assam.
In Assam 300 Foreigners Tribunals have been set up among which currently 100 are operating says MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita of Asom Gana Parishad in the Assam Assembly. In the assembly it was also informed that 98.356 per cent of border sealing work with neighbouring nation Bangladesh has been completed.
According to the sources, an objections were raised by the Border Gaurd Bangladesh (BGB) that fencing work for 4.35 km of the border in Karimganj district is still remaining. The Union Home Ministry has initiated Technology Solution for Border Domination at Kamriganj district as the Border Security Force is implementing the project.
According to the sources, earlier for having proper international border between India and Bangladesh illegal migration took place which has increased to 1,39,910 in Assam as data released by the Minister of Implementation of Assam Accord in the Assam Assembly.
