Guwahati News Desk: The Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurates to the first PET-MRI Wing of Northeast India
at State Cancer Institute in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati City on Sunday.
The project worth Rs 62 crore equipped with ‘Time of Flight’ tech will augment cancer treatment in Northeast India.
The Government of Assam is implementing Distributed Cancer Care Model in the State in partnership with Tata Trusts for providing timely and effective treatment to cancer patients as it aims to create patient-centric cancer institutions to deliver standardized & affordable cancer care.
The project was implemented under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Assam has created robust healthcare infra and ensures best services delivery, as seen during COVID-19 pandemic.
In Assam the mortality rate was less than 1 per cent, and our healthcare workers ensured exemplary service during pandemic.
