Guwahati News Desk: The prime accused of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) recruitment scam Ataur Rahman surrendered before the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell on Monday.
Earlier, the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell had successfully arrested 10 people linked up with the APDCL recruitment scam last Friday.
The APDCL had conducted the recruitment examinations for the post of office-cum-field assistants and sahayats and light vehicles drivers on February 17, 2019 and on April 28, 2019 before the pandemic. The recruitment process was conducted with the help of third party NEICOM.
The arrested people for the APDCL recruitment scam were
1. Dipankar Dihingia, OSD to APDCL Chairman.
2. Sasanka Saikia, LDA, Gauhati University.
3. Tridip Sarma, Expedia ESolutions outsources by GU.
4. Babilon Kakati, Private Security of GU.
5. Six staff (Dulumoni Deka, Farha Alam, Jayanta Deka, Kankan Sarma, Kaushik Das and Biswajit Barman) of third party of exam recruitment NEICOM.
The Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell registered a case 04/2021 under 120B/420/468/471 of IPC, r/w Section 7/13(b) of PC (Amendment) Act 2014.
