Guwahati News Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati before addressing election rallies in Assam on Wednesday.
Gandhi to campaign for the third phase of the Assam Assembly Elections as the leader was supposed to interact with women at the India Club ground in Silchar on Tuesday but could not attend the meeting for bad weather. He was also supposed to address a public rally in Karbi Anglong too.
As he could not visit Silchar due to continuous bad weather and heavy rain, Gandhi landed in Guwahati and spent the night at Hotel Radisson Blu.
The Congress leader will be heading towards Chaygaon today where he will be attending a public meeting and later he will move to Borkhetry in Nalbari to address another public rally ahead of the third phase of the Assam Assembly Election to be held on April 6.
Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Kamakhya temple says, “We aren’t BJP and we fulfil our promises. Congress has given 5 guarantees to the voters of Assam and Tea garden workers must remember of Rs 365 per day minimum wage”.
On the other hand, Congress counterpart BJP’s star campaigner Union Home Minister Amit Shah also to attend three rallies back to back in Assam today for the third phase poll in Assam.
