Guwahati News Desk: Minister of Environmental Protection and Forest Parimal Suklabaidya formally inaugurated the newly created Raimona National Park at Kachugaon in Kokrajhar district on Thursday.
The Raimona National Park was added as the 6th national park in Assam by Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5.
On the occasion BTC Chief Pramod Boro said that the BTC administration would release Rs 7.9 crore That was received form Power Grid Corporation of India as CSR for infrastructure development of the park and also submitted a detailed plan to develop the national park.
Suklabaidya handed over the gazettedte notification declaring Raimona as National Park to the BTC Chief.
The BTC Chief handed over an appreciation letter to Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Forest Minister for turning Raimona into a national park.
