Guwahati News Desk: In a joint operation conducted by Guwahati Police and Nagaon Police in a house of one Mridupawan Neog in the wee hours on Saturday has allegedly has involvement in a scam of Rs 30 lakhs.
According to the sources, in the major scam of Rs 30 lakhs the body guard of Mridupawan Neog, Rakesh Dixit and driver Bahin Boro have been arrested by the police officials.
During the search operation, the police officials seized 0.32 mm pistol, 20 live rounds, gold jewellery worths lakhs.
A large quantity of foreign liquor and many fake documents and stickers of various government departments and a logo of media house was seized. A Fortuner vehicle was also seized by police officials.
According to the sources, after engaging in many fraud business Neog was involved in car dealings where Neog was supposedly taken money from one Imran Hussain of Nehabazar in Nagaon district.
Based on the complaint lodged by Hussain the Guwahati Police and Nagaon Police launched a search operation against Neog which find out many leads against Neog and his scam.
According to the sources, Neog was reportedly to have dinner in a Sonapur Dhaba at 11 pm on Friday night and he also claimed to be a government official and dump people.
Neog successfully flee away immediately after he was knowing police officials were trying to catch him.
Earlier back in 2009, a case has been registered against Neog for involving in drug related case.
