Guwahati News Desk: Young actor from Assam Siva Rani Kalita clinched the best actress award for her film ‘Bridge‘ at the 51st International Film Festival Award 2021.
Such a prestigious award received by young talent is a proud moment for the Assamese Film Industry.
According to the source, the award was presented to Siva Rani Kalita at the Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards.
Kripal Kalita’s film ‘Bridge‘ is a colourful canvus of an unusual struggle of a teenage girl who residing along the bank of a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra river.
The film ‘Bridge‘ is the only film from Assam to be selected in the Indian panorama category for the 51st International Film Festival of India.
The film was made and portrayed to draw attention as people suffer lots of problems for not having basic facilities like a bridge in remote areas.
The ‘Bridge‘ is a debut movie for Siva Rani Kalita and earned the heights of success with her acting talent.
Earlier, ‘Bridge‘ directed by Kripal Kalita and produced by Rama Kumar Das and Sabita Devi has won the award for best social media film at the Golden Jury International Film Festival held in Mumbai.
The film also screened at the South East Film Festival and Light of Film Festival at Pinewood Studio held in the United States and London of England respectively.
