Guwahati News Desk: A massive border tension rose once against Assam and Meghalaya in the West Karbi Anglong on Wednesday.
According to the sources, a few Khasi miscreants have been spotted in Meghalaya who later attacked travellers and passengers from Assam. The people who have been attacked from Assam by the Khasi miscreants were travelling from Umlapher and Habang of Karbi Anglong in Assam.
As per sources, victims were travelling in two Tata Sumos as the incident took place in two areas near the Assam-Meghalaya border in the wee hours.
Earlier, one person was killed by firing in Goalpara district along the Assam-Meghalaya border. The deceased has been identified as Tapas Rabha. The sources said the cause of the firing is to be undertrained as the miscreants involved are yet to be identified.
Meghalaya tourism has been resumed from September 1 for full vaccinated tourists. The officials also announced that the non-vaccinated or vaccinated with single-dose people have to produce mandatory COVID-19 negative report at the entry point of Meghalaya only if they have tested with 72 hours before arrival.
