Guwahati News Desk: Two accused killed in a massive encounter by Assam Police on Saturday.
A notorious criminal Jainul Abedin was killed in an encounter by Nagaon Police while trying to flee away from police custody.
The incident took place at the Dhing area called Salkati in Nagaon.
Meanwhile similar incident was reported from Chirang district as on accused was killed by Chirang Police while trying to escaping from the police custody.
Chirang Police arrested three persons related to the brutal murder of Home Gaurd Eyad Ali. During the time of arrested murder weapon were also recover by Chirang Police officials.
After the arrest one of the accused among them named Abdul Khalek was shot down while trying to flee from Police custody but later succumbed to his injuries.
According to the sources, more than 10 accused has been shot down in an encounter while trying to flee away from police custody as all the insurgents were related to rape, cattle smugglers.
During the recent days after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins the Assam Assembly Elections for the second time and under the leadership of the new Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Police has started search operations across the State to eliminate crime.
Many drugs peddlers, poachers, cattle smugglers were arrested by Police officials and has reduced the crime happenings in Assam.
