Guwahati News Desk: Union Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman performed Bhoomi Pujan for APGCL’s 10 MW Lower Kopili Hydro Electric Project at Longku in Dima Hasao on Thursday in presence of Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The project will increase electricity supply from clean energy by 469 GWh by 2025 & reduce greenhouse gas emission by 360K tons annually.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for helping Assam with ambitious externally aided projects as the total cost of the project is worth Rs 2200 crore as Rs 1700 crore has been provided by the Government of India.
In the event Minister Bimal Borah, CEM NCHAC Debolal Gorlosa and CEM KAAC Tuliram Ronghang were present.
