Union Minister Sonowal visited Majuli, assured bridge within 4 years

Guwahati News Desk: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal visited Majuli to take a stock of the boat tragedy that took place on Wednesday.

During his visit to Majuli, Union Minister Sarbanada Sonowal had assured to the people of Majuli that it will get a bridge within 4 years.

Union Minister Sarbnanda Sonowal holds a meeting with Chief Minister of Assam and later said that the Jorhat and Majuli administration has taken immediate measures to reduce such kind of accident in the future.

Union Minister Sonowal thanks Assam CM Sarma for taking necessary measure to tackle the Nimati Ghat boat tragedy as on Thursday Assam CM announced that the sanctioned bridge from Jorhat to Majuli construction will start from Novermber this year.

Union Minister Sonowal paid tribute to Parimita Das who lost her life in the tragic boat accident. Sonowal said if the bridge would be constructed such accident would not have been taken place.

In the accident the officials have reported that the two persons is still missing since Wednesday after the accident as both the SDRF and NDRF team is conducting the search operation to find out the missing passengers.

Sonowal also said in the recent days many political parties and organisations had taken advantages over the incident as urges not to do politics as government of Assam is planning for a permanent solution to reduce such accidents.
