Guwahati News Desk: During the recent days, wild animals have witnessed and seen roaming in the city which has created a tense situation for the Guwahati residence.

A leopard was allegedly seen by the cit residence in the Pandu-Kamakhya route area near Maligaon on Thursday which has created havoc situation.

Meanwhile, a couple of wild elephants were reportedly seen eating from the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) dustbin at Satgaon area on Friday Monday.

According to the sources, the wild elephants which were seen at Satgaon area came from the Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary in search of food.

A panic situation was seen in the morning time among the residents after the visit of the wild elephants.

During the increasing construction of the lands and new roads, the wild animals who were living in and around Guwahati city are losing their living spaces.

Another reason such an incident took place is the scarcity of food they were losing due to human habitation, as a result, the conflict between human and wild animals was seen frequently across the State which causes deaths to both man and animals.

Earlier in the year 2020, a six-year-old child died in a leopard attack at the Adimgiri area of Gotanagar near Maligaon in Guwahati.

Guwahati has witnessed multiple wild animals cases before. The residence of Guwahati still claims that leopard can be seen in isolate and hilly areas within the city.
