Guwahati News Desk: Bhupen Kumar Borah has been appointed as the new President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Saturday.
The senior leader of Congress, Bhupen Kumar Borah was an electoral candidate from the Bihpuria constituency in the Assam Assembly Elections 2021.
Earlier, Assam Congress has announced to appoint new State President.
Meanwhile, the All India Congress Committe has appointed State party leaders Rana Goswami, North Karimganj MLA Kamalakhya Dev Purkayastha and Sarukhetri MLA Jakir Hussain Sikdar as working Presidents of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee.
In the official notification, the All India Congress Committee have acknowledged the contributions of former and outgoing APCC President Ripun Bora for his excellent contribution towards the Congress party.
