Guwahati News Desk: As per the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the new academic session for first-year students to be admitted in various universities across the country will commence from 1st October this year.
According to the guidelines by UGC Secretary, Rajnish Jain, all the universities and colleges will start the admission process only after the class 12 board results have been declared.
Regarding the admission process for the undergraduate (UG) course’s academic session for 2021-2022, the other higher educational institutions have also received the directions that the session will start only after the class 12 board results have been declared.
Meanwhile, CBSE has announced that it will declare the class 12 board results by 31st July. Infact, the Class 12 results will also be declared by various state boards tentatively around the same time.
As stated by the UGC, the admission process for the current academic session must be completed by 30th September.
The UGC has made it very clear that the college seats left vacant during the admission process must be filled by 31st October. However, the universities will be accepting the documents related to the admission process till 31st December, this year.
The UGC has also instructed that classes conducted online, offline and mixed-mode for intermediate semester students must be started at the earliest.
Reports further state that, CBSE has already started the process of preparing the results of class 12 boards, for which instructions have been issued to all CBSE-affiliated schools. The schools will also be uploading the marks secured by the students in class 11. In addition, CBSE has further asked all schools to upload the marks secured by students in the practical and project works.
