Guwahati News Desk: Silsila Alikhil, the daughter of Afghanistan’s ambassador, Najib Alikhil, was briefly kidnapped by unknown assailants, who left her with severe injuries and rope marks.
Silsila was on her way home when she was seized for several hours and was “severely tortured.” The abduction took place in Islamabad, on Friday.
Pakistani officials informed that Silsila, who is in her 20s, was assaulted by assailants who got into a car that she was travelling in and beat her up aggressively.
She is now undergoing medical treatment at a hospital.
Condemning the “inhuman attack”, the ambassador, Najib Alikhil, said his daughter “feels better now.”
Sources have stated that Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul was summoned to lodge a formal complaint, and even the police were investigating the “disturbing incident” and security had been tightened for the ambassador and his family.
Interior Minister Sheikh, Rashid Ahmed, informed that Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, wanted the matter treated as a top priority and the culprits caught within 48 hours.
The frosty ties between the two neighbours, Pakistan and Afghanistan, has continued to cause the occurrences of many such heart-wrenching incidents, and the relations between the two continue to be strained.
