India reported the highest single-day spike since October: Must Read

Guwahati News Desk: India reported new 59,118 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours which is the highest single-day spike since early October.

Whereas 32,987 COVID-19 patients were recovered and 257 death reported in a single day.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases across the country stands at 4,21,066 as 1.61 lakh people lost their lives so far.

In India, a total of 5,55,04,440 people has been vaccinated so far. Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra, Parbhani and Beed districts has imposed lockdown till April 4 to stop and reduce public movement with immediate effect.

Recently,y Madhya Pradesh has dismissed all inter-district movement of buses due to the daily hike of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), India is the third worst-affected country in the world after the United States and Brazil.

Due to the rising cases across the country, the government of India has issued a notification for states and UTs as they may consider imposing restrictions in public gatherings during the celebration of upcoming Holi, Bihu, Easter, Shab-e-Barat and Eid-ul-Fitr, etc with immediate effect.
