Guwahati News Desk: On November 4th a fire burnt multiple houses and commercial establishments and property estimated to be worth crores of rupees was destroyed in Rangia, Assam .

As per reports, no one was hurt. The incident took place near the town’s Mrittunjay Shiv Temple on Thursday night during Diwali celebrations, engulfing several houses, shops, and godowns.

Meanwhile, after more than two hours, eight fire tenders were able to extinguish the flames with the assistance of local residents. Notably, property worth crores of rupees was lost, yet the source of the fire is still unknown.

On the other hand, on November 4, a large fire broke out in Guwahati’s railway colony of Panbazar. The blaze started in the early morning hours and primarily affected the area near Kalimandir Path in the Railway colony.

The flames spread over a large area, destroying several houses in the railway colony and setting houses on blaze.

The flames severely damaged one of the houses in the area belonging to Basanti Basfore. The massive blaze in the neighbourhood as a whole resulted in the loss of property worth over ten lakhs of rupees.

The cause of the incident in the railway colony is unknown, but locals believe it may have started from Diyas that had been lit up to celebrate Diwali.
