Guwahati News Desk: Another new black fungus or mucormycosis disease cases was detected at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh on Saturday.
It’s for the fifth time black fungus case was reported in Assam as the 47-year-old patient is from Lakhimpur district who was admitted to AMCH on June 15 with post COVID complaints.
The first ever mucormycosis disease was detected at Apollo Hospital in Guwahati in May as the patients succumbed to it as later the government of Assam has declared it as a notifiable disease on May 26.
