Guwahati News Desk: Raijor Dal Chief and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi rejected an offer provided by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to merge with Trinamool Congress.
Earlier, Akhil Gogoi met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Saturday.
During the meet, TMC Chief offers to collaborated both the political parties but was denied by Akhil Gogoi.
MLA Akhil Gogoi said, “Raijor Dal and myself have formally hold a meet with TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee as we said that Raijor Dal is the local party of Assam which was formed as the only alternate against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as people of Assam see us as the representative of the regional force in Assam.”
Raijor Dal is ready to fight one on one against BJP without merging with any other political party.
According to the sources, Gogoi also said that they has been going to have a talk with the Assam Congress as well as the dialogue has been started with the party about an alliance in the State as he further added that they are going to meet the President of Assam Congress including the working presidents.
